HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year to all our KCC friends! As we step into the Year of the Horse, the Korean Cultural Centre AU extends our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a year filled with joy, happiness, and good health. We are thrilled to bring you a dynamic lineup of exhibitions, performances, programs, and workshops throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming you at our events and to continue this cultural journey with you.

This year’s Lunar New Year falls on 17 February, marking a fresh chapter. May the season bring renewed energy, inspiration, and joyful memories. 새해 복 많이 받으세요! (Saehae bok mani badeuseyo!)

KCC Event I 18 & 20 Feb 
Korean Book Club (Art on Fire)

Kick off 2026 with a special Korean Book Club, featuring award-winning author Yun Ko-eun and her latest novel Art on Fire, our Book of the Month. Don’t miss your chance to meet Yun Ko-eun in person and share insights with fellow readers. She will be visiting Melbourne and Sydney this time! Find out more.

Hello Melbounre! In conversation with Yun Ko-eun will take place on Wednesday, 18 February. The discussion will be moderated by Beverley Wang, host of ABC Radio Narional and a jonalist. Check here and go in the draw to win a double pass!

Hello Sydney! the first Korean Book Club of 2026 will be held on Friday, 20 February. Special guest Yun Ko-eun will be in coversation with Michaela Kalowski, an interviewer and curator fo writers. Find out more about the special event here!

KCCAU is delighted to share a local Lunar New Year event, hosted by Lane Cove Council. Celebrating the richness of Korean culture, the 2026 program invites you to explore both traditional and contemporary K-culture. Experience vibrant night markets, live performances, interactive workshops, cultural games, and immersive art installations this Lunar New Year season. Learn more!

National Museum of Australia I Now-10 May
Hallyu! The Korean Wave

Enter the vibrant world of Hallyu! the Korean Wave—an exhibition developed by the National Museum of Australia in Canberra that spotlights one of the most influential cultural movements of our time.

Spanning K-pop, K-film, fashion, beauty and more, the exhibition explores how South Korea’s creative energy has resonated with audiences around the world. The museum café is now offering a special menu inspired by Korean flavours, adding a delicious way to experience Hallyu beyond the gallery. Plus, you can also explore a variety of K-goods—from skincare to K-pop light sticks—available at the museum shop!
