The Auckland Writers Festival returns this May as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading celebrations of literature and ideas. It brings together acclaimed writers and thinkers from around the world for a programme of conversations, readings, and live events.

This year, Korean author Bora Chung, author of The Midnight Timetable and Cursed Bunny, and translator Shanna Tan, who has worked on titles including Welcome to the Hyunamdong Bookshop by Hwang Boreum, will be joining the festival. Together, they highlight the growing reach of Korean literature and translation across global audiences.
