    Literature In Conversation – Stories of Living Together from Korea and Australia

    Presented in partnership with Arts Council Korea (ARKO), Sydney Writers' Festival, and Creative Australia. Moderated by Australian–Korean comedian Harry Jun, this special session brings together five acclaimed children’s authors—Hynmin Park, Hyewon Kyung, Suyeon Lee, Susanne Gervay OAM, and Antonia Pesenti—from Korea and Australia for an engaging conversation on nature, animals, and the environment.   Through their work, the authors explore how children’s literature can encourage curiosity, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world we share.  Discover how storytelling helps young readers connect with nature and learn the importance of living together in harmony. This free workshop is open to all- from beginners to K-Pop fans eager to train with an industry professional. – Korean Book Club: Join Kim Keum Hee, acclaimed author of The Grand Greenhouse Repair Report and Diary of a Plant Parent, together with Clare Richards, translator of the English editions. Discover the stories behind the novels and the art of bringing Korean literature to global readers. – Special Talk with Kate Evans, Beejay Silcox, and Eliza Jung: Explore We Do Not Part by Nobel Prize-winning author Han Kang.     Korean Food Experience the ‘Taste of Jang’

    The Korean Cultural Centre Australia presents a special program introducing Korea’s traditional culture of making Jang (장, fermented sauces), which is inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Participants will learn about various Korean fermented foods and the culture of Jang, including Gochujang (고추장, red chili paste), Doenjang (된장, soybean paste), and Ganjang (간장, soy sauce). They will also have the opportunity to enjoy cooking demonstrations, tastings, and hands-on practice using these traditional sauces. DATE & TIME: ●Session 1: Wednesday, 6 May 2026, 11:00 am – 1:30 pm ●Session 2: Wednesday, 6 May 2026, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm ※ The same program will be offered in each session.
