STORYTELLING WITH LAUREN BRIGGS Event Date 06 Jul 2024
A distinguished children’s picture book author and illustrator, as well as a president of the Children’s Book Council of Australia NSW – Eastern Suburbs Branch will do storytelling and craft work. Children who attended the programs and purchased the children’s book will have a special gift. ●DATES: Saturday 6 July 2024, 2pm ●VENUE: Gertrude & Alice Bookstore (1/46 Hall St, Bondi Beach NSW 2026) ●FEE: Free admission, bookings essential. ●BOOK: Tiny Wonders is Sally Soweol Han’s debut book and tells about the story of a small child trying to bring wonder back to her town through the language of flowers. April thinks if her town was a colour, it would be grey. Everyone is too busy to stop and look around. How can she help them slow down? When she remembers the happiness that dandelions brought her grandmother, April comes up with a plan. Bursting with colour, this is a sweet story about flowers, family and the wonders children wish for. Presented in partnership with Gertrude & Alice Bookstore at Bondi Beach

Myo Yim, a children’s book author/illustrator, will guide you through storytelling with her book, Rajah Street and a craft workshop. You will draw your street and your own room as seen through the window. SPECIAL KIDS HOLIDAY PROGRAM ‘CREATING MY OWN IMAGINARY ANIMALS’ Event Date 03 Jul 2023
Special Kids Holiday Program featuring the current exhibition WONDER: Wordless Picture Books by 7 artists from South Korea. During the program, kids will have the opportunity to create imaginary animals by applying their desired paint onto a collagrph plate using a roller, and then printing it.\ ●TIME & DATE: 10:00-12:00 or 13:00-15:00, 3 JULY 2023 ●VENUE: Korean Cultural Centre Australia (255 Elizabeth St. Sydney NSW, 2000) ●AGE: Suitable for children aged 5 and above. Presented in partnership with the Burwood Council KCC is delight to offer a special Painting Workshop celebrating the upcoming Harmony Day. TIME & DATE: 11:00-13:00 (AEST), Tuesday 21 MAR 2023 VENUE: Burwood Library (2 Conder St, Burwood NSW 2134) DESCRIPTION: Myo Yim, children’s book author/illustrator will guide you into simple tricks and techniques decorating some Korean traditional Minwha style flowers/insects on the basis of a typographic design using the Korean word ‘하모니’ meaning harmony. Participants will take home their artwork and all materials will be provided. This program is designed for 18 years of age and over.
