The 17th KOFFIA Unveils 2026 Program

The 17th Korean Film Festival in Australia (KOFFIA) will take place from 20 to 25 August 2026 at Event Cinemas George Street in Sydney, showcasing the latest and most acclaimed works from Korean cinema. Following its Sydney program, the festival will continue with a free regional touring program across five locations in Australia, bringing Korean films to audiences nationwide.

This year’s festival will present 10 films, including nine Australian premiere screenings. The program will also feature special guest appearances and audience Q&A sessions with Korean filmmakers and industry professionals, including actors KO Kyung-pyo and directors KIM Do-young, LEE Hwan, and KIM Jin-yu, as well as producer KANG Taeu.

The festival will open with Once We Were Us, starring KOO Kyo-hwan and MUN Ka-young. Director KIM Do-young will attend the Sydney screening for a special post-screening Q&A with audiences.

The 2026 program features a diverse selection of Korean cinema across a range of genres. Highlights include director YEON Sang-ho's The Ugly, director HONG Sang-soo’s The Day She Returns, the crime noir Project Y starring HAN So-hee and JUN Jong-seo, and the mystery thriller Maze featuring actor KO Kyung-pyo. Audiences will also have the opportunity to experience action comedies, first-love romances, coming-of-age dramas, and family films.

Following the Sydney festival, four featured films — Once We Were Us, Maze, Project Y, and Journey There — will travel to five regional locations across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, and Queensland as part of KOFFIA’s free regional screening program.

Festival tickets are available at www.koffia.com.au. Further details, including regional screening schedules and the full program, will be announced through the official website and social media channels.
